Shlomo’s Mouthtronica at Latitude Festival, 15 July 2011

Great news! I’ll be doing my one-man show Mouthtronica in the Theatre Arena at this year’s Latitude Festival.
I had a cracking time there in 2009 when I played Latitude with the Vocal Orchestra and also did this collaboration with the legend that is Jarvis Cocker:
Download the Mouthtronica improv album in aid of MSF
Each night on my recent Mouthtronica tour I jammed with a different local hero. We recorded each collaboration, and now we have a 21-track live collaborative charity improv album!
The collaborators voted to choose the charity, and all the proceeds will be going to international medical and humanitarian aid organization MÉDECINS SANS FRONTIÈRES. (Also known as Doctors without Borders.)

Pete from MSF gave us the following statement:
“Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) would like to say a massive thank you to Shlomo and all the Mouthtronica collaborators. Not just for donating revenues from the Mouthtronica album to our projects – which is amazingly generous – but also for making such a fine album… Beatboxing goodness can be heard from laptops and headphones all around the office at the moment!
At MSF, we provide emergency medical care to people affected by natural disasters, wars or epidemics, or simply to people who have none. We rely on private donations to do what we do because it is our financial independence and neutrality that allow us to be wherever people are in the most need, often in places other organisations can’t go. All the artists involved in this album, and anybody who buys it, should be proud. They are making it possible for our medical teams to save lives and alleviate suffering all around the world, and we can’t thank them enough.
(And of course we can’t wait to see Shlomo’s special performance at the MSF Live stage at Glastonbury Festival!)”

MOUTHTRONICA – ONE MAN, ONE MOUTH, ONE MIC
I’m dead excited to announce the Spring tour of Mouthtronica – my new one man show. It’s an intense mix of storytelling and high energy genre-hopping human beatboxing. It’s a chance for me to play some new tracks and also to tell the story of how I became a beatboxer, going right back to when I was 3 years old playing Arabic drums and belly dancing at my Iraqi-Jewish grandmother’s parties. I’m also teaching a beatbox masterclass at each venue before the show.
