Hi, Shlomo here. I’m an Artist in Residence at London’s Southbank Centre where I’ve been curating a collaborative concert series called Music Through Unconventional Means since 2007.

Our latest concert is on October 31st and is called Beatbox vs Spoken word, featuring myself and world female beatbox champion BELLATRIX collaborating with wordsmith CHARLIE DARK, the poet POLAR BEAR and the incredible rapper DIZRAELI with his 6 piece hip hop band THE SMALL GODS.

In the first half of the show we’ll each perform some of our own material, followed by some brand new raw organic collaborative work in an attempt to push the boundaries of each artform.

I’m so excited to be collaborating with the incredible wordsmith Charlie Dark at “Beatboxing vs Spoken Word” at the QEH on October 31st.

He made his name through his jazzy hip hop project Attica Blues and more recently as the founder of Blacktronica, a loose collective of poets, painters, musicians, film makers and other creative types.

I recently performed at his School of Dark show at the Big Chill Festival and his style and presence blew me away. Really excited about this one! Also appearing are Bellatrix, Polar Bear, Dizraeli & the Small Gods.

To celebrate my entering my 4th year (i know!) as Artist in Residence at London’s Southbank Centre, we’ve organised a special concert as part of my ongoing collaborative series Music Through Unconventional Means.
